Ok, the whole Palin thing is getting ridiculous. I don’t know what to make of it, other than it’s clearly just a really stupid media circus to me now. There are so many crazy theories about who the real mother of baby Trig really is. Then there’s people saving and posting the pages and pictures of her daughter’s MySpace pages, along with her daughter’s friends’ pages.
I feel really sorry for the fact that Palin is clearly a political pawn being played to advance McCain’s personal agenda. So much for ‘Country First’. It’s so blatant that McCain orchestrated this campaign pick, and he has no one to blame for the fiasco except himself.
Even more so, I think there are many Republicans who are clearly defending McCain-Palin just because they belong to the same party. Their arguments are so weak and I have yet to hear anything of substance come out of their mouths. I keep watching interview after interview of these Republican representatives who end up looking ridiculous when they can’t answer any direct questions regarding all the controversy surrounding Palin’s abuse of power, her experience and ability to help lead the country, and of course, the speculation surrounding the pregnancy.
I’ll be watching the RNC closely this week, and I’ll be sure to keep up on all of this.
Whatever does end up happening after the RNC, I don’t doubt that McCain has seriously hurt himself when he made this clearly brash and ridiculous choice for his running mate. His political career and reputation, I’m sure, will be tarnished, and I’m sure Palin’s professional fate will also fall victim to all of this.
It doesn’t matter if you’re Republican or Democrat. The entire situation is just plain stupid and it clearly says everything that’s needed to be said about McCain and the Republicans.
